Miss Benita deserves a special mention, gwapa na, buotan pa ☺️ She was hands-on and caring, even offering to watch our son during the meal so we could eat properly. That meant a lot to us as parents. We celebrated our son's baptism at Papabo Backpackers and couldn't be happier. The food was delicious, the staff were accommodating, and the place is beautiful and well suited to events. We'd recommend it for family celebrations and special occasions. Thank you, Papabo Backpackers, for making the day extra special!

The people running this place are what really set it apart. Everyone was extremely friendly, and they even remembered me when I returned a few times while traveling around the Philippines. They also let me leave one of my bags in storage, which made backpacking around the island a lot easier. The capsule beds have under-bed storage and feel much more private than other hostel setups I've tried. The bar downstairs is a great spot, and I was lucky to meet several expats living in Cebu and grow my network beyond other backpackers. One of the better hostels I've stayed in. Thanks for everything, and see you soon!

The huge Philippines mural is wonderful, and the whole place has a nice vibe. It's a convenient spot, with pharmacies and convenience stores nearby. The rooms are roomy and comfortable for family outings, and the food is good and satisfying. The pool is clean and enjoyable, good for relaxing or small get-togethers, and the staff are welcoming and accommodating. One thing to improve: the event sound system, especially the microphone quality and support for multiple devices. Still a solid place to stay and hang out, and I'd recommend it for groups and casual events.

Our father passed away here in Cebu, and it was a very difficult time for us. The staff at Papabo were amazing and so accommodating. Nathan served us first, recommended some excellent food, and suggested local places to visit. We ended up coming back every night of our visit, and Daisy, Jamaica, Chester and Ryan all gave us phenomenal service. Every meal was tasty, and each visit was fantastic. We also met people from all over the world. We were staying nearby in an Air BnB for the last week or so, so I can't speak to the rooms. If you want somewhere safe with great food, kind staff, a good location, and good company, Papabo is for you. Thank you so much from Canada!

The staff were all great to interact with, and the pool and restaurant area is lovely, with a pool table and big TV. The capsule beds are spacious, comfortable, and offer good privacy. It's also affordable for a night before or after a flight. Still, I'll stay somewhere else next time. The plastic privacy panels bang loudly against the wood. Bathroom facilities were a real problem: there are only two toilets for 20 people, and just one worked. Of four showers, one was out of order and two shared the same curtained space. The curtains barely cover the shower area, there was no hot water, the floor was dirty, and the trash was overflowing. Food was expensive for the small portions. The pork adobo portion was laughably small, and there was a service charge on top. I understand outside food isn't allowed because it's technically a restaurant, but it's also a hostel, and guests may not be able or willing to pay 500php for a pizza. With more attention to the rest of the facility, this could be a fantastic place. Hope things improve for future guests. Salamat
