The staff were very nice and accommodating, but the rest of the stay was pure hell. They don't change the sheets unless they're visibly dirty, which is disgusting, and I can't get over it. The bathrooms were terrible, with nowhere to hang your things even though the toilet and shower are in the same room. There was no soap, and the toilets smelled AWFUL. The beds creaked with every movement, and I didn't even dare look under my mattress. The Wi-Fi was terrible, and the music was so loud after 7 p.m. that it was impossible to have a conversation, even out on the street. They should just turn it down. My friend found nails on her outlet too, make of that what you want🤗. The restaurant food was far too expensive for the poor quality, and the wait was long. The location was far from everything, but since you have to rent a scooter to see anything on the island anyway, that was tolerable. Our next accommodation is literally a tent, and it's so much cleaner than the beds at Mad Monkey hostel. I won't ever go back to a Mad Monkey hostel. This was maybe even a social experiment. If you want an authentic experience, stay somewhere owned by locals instead of giving money to a big company for an inauthentic experience and dirt everywhere.

Steve made Mad Monkey Siquijor feel like a community. He was friendly and easy to approach, always checking that people felt welcome. Whether he was organizing events, answering questions, or laughing with people at the bar, he helped make sure there was never a dull moment. Joe, another guest, also kept the good energy going. He was very social, brought people together, and seemed to be at every group hangout. Steve’s management and Joe’s infectious energy made for an amazing stay.

The staff at Mad Monkey Siquijor were amazing, especially Louise and Daisy. They brought lots of energy and organized things we could enjoy as travellers. Ms. Leids also deserves a big shoutout for being so kind and looking out for my safety while I was in Siquijor. I had an amazing stay and can't wait to see you all again next time. 🫶🏻

Steve and Joe were fantastic, super friendly, and really accommodating. They made the very social atmosphere even better. One caution about the menu: eggs aren't listed under allergens, but a lot of the traditional dishes include raw egg without saying so, so be careful. Many events felt way overpriced for what you get, and I think some of their other hostels are the same. The hostel itself costs considerably more than most, so I think the events should be cheaper.

I had an amazing stay at MM Siquijor. The rooms were nice, and there were fun, engaging activities. There’s a pool and a bonfire where people can relax and genuinely connect. It’s in Lazi, close to spots and destinations, and I liked that the staff socialized with guests too, especially Steven the Manager 💜
