Hotel Sentro Legazpi

The hotel met almost all my expectations, and I had a genuinely comfortable stay. The room was in very satisfying condition, and the city center location made it easy to reach nearby restaurants, cafés, and a convenience store. After staying in the Philippines for a while, I know comfortable accommodation can be hard to find outside major cities. Provincial hotels can have weak water pressure, brownouts, insects in the room or on the bed, too few hangers, and thin towels that sometimes smell unpleasant. I didn't run into most of those concerns here. The restaurant was decent, though the food and dining experience could be improved a little to match the rooms.

Our three-day stay at Hotel Sentro felt like a five-star experience, even though it's a three-star hotel. The rooms were clean and well kept, service was consistently prompt, and the staff were courteous and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was always full of a wide range of delicious food. Its central location made things easy, with malls, supermarkets, fast-food places, and drugstores just a short walk away. They also helped arrange our airport transfer, Mayon ATV adventure, and an in-room spa service after a long, strenuous day, which took a lot off our minds as tourists. In Japan, hotel staff greet people with a respectful bow. At Hotel Sentro, we were greeted with hands over the chest, a warm smile, and a sincere “Good day” in the local dialect. That gesture felt humble and genuinely welcoming. We arrived as guests and left feeling cared for. It was worth every peso and a recommendation.

The staff were nice, but the hotel wasn't good. We had several room problems: first the water stopped working, then the key cards started malfunctioning. We also had no internet access, and room service was terrible. The food was just okay, nothing special, and there were small bugs in the cafeteria.

We enjoyed staying here. The location is great, close to stores and malls, and the food was nice too. The staff were hospitable and friendly, and they were quick to sort out problems.
