La Piazza Hotel and Convention Center

The rooms are large, with air conditioning, a safe, a good range of TV programs, and a strong Wi-Fi signal. The location is good, and the hotel feels worth the money. Recommended. 4 April 2024

The staff are warm and personable, always greeting you with a smile. There’s a small bar with limited choices, but the place is pleasant overall. Security is outside and there around the clock. Each room has a phone, which some places surprisingly don’t provide, and you can call for anything you need.

At my cousin’s wedding reception, the hotel served small Western-style dishes, but the food didn’t meet my expectations. I tried everything on my plate, and only the chocolate-covered desserts suited my taste. I also visited my cousin’s room and saw that its bathroom door and faucet were damaged. The front office employees were pretty and courteous, though service was slow and they kept making customers wait.

The staff were friendly, the car park was very good, and both the air conditioning and bed were good. The TV had plenty of programs. But the room was bare, with too few power outlets, no proper window, and a dark, prison-cell feel. The old-fashioned door key looked like it could be opened with a hairpin. There was nowhere to put soap in the shower, and with no separation from the CR, the whole bathroom got wet when someone showered. The few pieces of furniture looked second- or third-hand. There was no refrigerator at first, but after I complained, they brought in a good one. Compared with other hotels in the Philippines, this costs too much for what it offers. Sorry.
