Magayon Hotel

My husband and I stayed there yesterday, Dec 16-17. It was late at night, there were no couple beds available, so we booked a twin room for 1,800. The room was big, but the floor was dusty everywhere, and you could feel it walking barefoot. No slippers for guests, unlike at other hotels. The AC was very noisy and I couldn't sleep. Something in the bed was biting me, maybe dust mites or ticks. I still have lots of red, itchy bumps on the backs of my legs. My God, I won't recommend this hotel to my friends.

We booked through Expedia and found the location handy, close to a church and shopping malls. The parking area felt secure and had just enough space for around 8 cars, hahaha. The rooms were spacious: we got two rooms, each with two double beds. The AC worked fine but was a little noisy, the bathroom was just big enough, and the hot shower was a nice surprise. The hotel has four floors and no elevator, which wasn't clear on the website. We were put on the 4th floor, and our request for a lower room for our senior parents wasn't accommodated. They said the rooms were cleaned daily, but when we came back the first night, ours hadn't been cleaned. Reception said maybe they forgot or there were no cleaners that day, and that I hadn't requested it. What?! The same thing happened the next day. We stayed 3 nights and 4 days, and the room wasn't cleaned once. Breakfast was about what you'd expect for a cheap hotel.

The room was affordable, and the hot shower worked, though that seems to depend on the water pressure in your room. The location was nice, near the city center, Ayala Malls, and Wackys Republic, one of my favorite bars in the city.

A very budget friendly local hotel in Legaspi city Albay. It's old and not fancy, but they maintain it well, and everything else is old but good. My one concern is the CR: some are fine, while others need cleaning, and they could use exhaust fans and have some hard water stains and mildew removed from the tiles. Still, it's really not that bad.
