Dinner tasted good, but the courses were timed strangely. The starter would arrive, then the main course just a few minutes later, so it was only warm by the time we finished the first course. One evening meal was cold when it reached the table. I mentioned it to reception. The food itself was good, but I think the restaurant needs to pay attention to how and when each course is served. The restaurant was clean, and most staff were attentive, though a few could have smiled more. The buffet breakfast had a nice selection, and the food was fresh and good quality. Our room was pleasant, with good decor, working air conditioning, a safe, fridge, kettle, complimentary tea and coffee, toiletries, and two bottles of water on arrival. The modern walk-in shower and blackout blind were nice too. It was generally clean and tidy, although some shelves were dusty and the fridge door seal wasn't clean. The room next door had a door that seemed not to shut properly, and we heard it bang occasionally throughout our three nights. I'm not sure why maintenance took so long to fix it. Before arriving, I emailed Hotel Venezia and the reservations team got back to me. After we discussed dietary requirements, they let me know the pool was closed and hot water might not be available because both were under maintenance. The hotel is set back from the main road, so traffic noise was lower. Reception welcomed my partner and me, took a refundable deposit, and told us where to go and when breakfast and dinner were served. The staff were friendly and polite, and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was good and the food quality was very good.
