Solano Hotel

The food and coffee we ordered were really enjoyable, with nice, satisfying flavors, and we had a pleasant time in a good atmosphere. I did notice the service charge on the receipt. It seemed a bit high for people watching their everyday budget, though I’m just sharing an observation. While we were there, I overheard a few staff say they were still waiting for the service charge to be distributed. I’d assumed the fee went to the staff, so I’m wondering whether it actually reaches them or is held by management or the hotel owner. No bad intentions in asking. The food and drinks were great, but I hope the hardworking team gets their fair share. If they don’t, that fee shouldn’t be on the bill.

The area felt safe, and the staff were accommodating. We had everything we needed, and our room was clean and comfortable. Had a great stay, highly recommend 💛

My partner and I had a great restaurant visit, from the food through to the service. The staff work hard, and I really salute them. We couldn’t help wondering how much they earn, since the work is demanding and probably doesn’t pay much despite the heavy workload. I used to work in a hotel and saw some management teams keep a large part of the service charge instead of giving it to the people who deserve it. I truly hope the charge we paid goes directly to the staff here, not just to management. To all the staff, you’re doing amazing, and I appreciate your effort and dedication.

The location was good, but being right beside the main road meant we could hear neighborhood videoke and motorcycles going by. It also took a while for the front desk to answer calls. The room was dirty when we arrived, with a dead cockroach on the floor and lots of mosquitoes, so we asked staff to spray Baygon. On the second night, black water came from both the faucet and shower. It took a while for staff to find a solution, and we had to move rooms to use the bathroom. The linens and pillowcases were stained and smelly, like they hadn’t been changed for a long time. After that, we asked for a late checkout, but they allowed only a one-hour extension.
