The Suites at Mount Malarayat

Rain came into our room even though all the windows were locked. The indoor playroom wasn’t there, either. The toys and slides are outside, so the children couldn’t play during the heat and sun and had to wait until 5pm. At the restaurant we were seated at an unclean, partly hidden table, despite plenty of unreserved tables. A staff member cleared used plates onto a tray while we stood waiting, and initially didn’t want to change the wet disposable table coverings. The food was ordinary and cost 400+/person, so we ate outside from our second day. We booked the billiards room for 4pm the next day, but foreigner walk-ins were already playing when we arrived on time. Staff told us to wait an hour because they had just started. For KTV, one staff member said it wasn’t available, another said it cost 1K per hour, and no one helped us. If you’re not a foreign golfer, this place may not be for you.

There’s a huge pond right by the room doors, full of thousands of fish, and my kids loved feeding them. The playground has things for children of all ages, and the swimming pool is huge. The rooms are nice, the service is good, and the atmosphere is great even beyond the golf. For golfers, it’s a great place.

The pool is nice, but the rooms need updating and they charge extra for everything. The American breakfast costs about 10 dollars. The resort is 10 minutes from a shopping mall, but Lipa has no taxis, so it’s best to stay here if you have a car.

We stayed over the long weekend in August 2014. The room was clean and well kept. The restaurant seemed to close too early, though. I’d still be glad to return.
