We loved how calm and clean everything felt, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. There’s plenty of room to wander, along with pools and other activities to keep everyone busy. With its beautiful view of Caliraya Lake, Caliraya Resort Club worked really well for our family outing. I’d happily come back for another relaxing weekend.

There are lots of free amenities, and the SLIDE PINOY is worth trying if you’re up for a bit of a walkathon. Just keep your expectations in check because the place is pretty old.

The facilities could use some extra care, though it’s still a decent spot for the usual team-building activities. The food is fine as long as you’re not expecting anything fancy. If you’re coming with family and haven’t brought food, the Bilao bundle for 999 is an option. Add separate rice packs, which are good quality and generously served for a low price, to stretch your budget.

We had a spacious room with an obviously new air conditioner, and they provided towels, toothbrushes, soap, and shampoo. Water stations are free in some parts of the resort, and a jeepney can take your things to the villas if you’re staying far away. The staff were accommodating, and the grounds are huge, with lots of space and activities for big family outings or team building. I was there with a member, though, so I can’t say if nonmembers have the same experience. There were a lot of flies in our room when we checked in, and the room and resort amenities felt old. We couldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi, and there was no signal, so working from the resort doesn’t seem practical unless you bring your own Starlink. The TV had very few, if any, channels. It was hard to get through to the snack bar or restaurant, and it got dark outside after 6pm. There was only one jeepney available. We were told activity areas were staffed until 5pm, but some had already started closing at 4:30pm. They could maintain all the amenities, fix broken room fixtures, add lighting for nighttime, and keep activities open longer, especially in summer when it’s busier. Golf cars would also help people get around instead of relying on the jeepney.

The staff were exceptional, but they were severely understaffed, and I felt bad for them. We were stuck here for a week because of the RCI partnership. Rust, mold, leaky toilets, aging infrastructure, and a lack of maintenance resources made a lot of things barely functional. The new owners seem to be running it on the cheap, leaving repairs undone to protect their profits. It feels like property management is sacrificing proper upkeep, and I wouldn’t trust the place to meet health and environmental inspection standards. Maybe it was a great resort back in the 1970s, but I’d tell travelers to avoid it now unless they enjoy seeing what the 70s were like.
