Widus Hotel Clark

The breakfast seating was the worst part of our stay. We were asked to wait, which was fine, but then I saw another guest walk in without being checked, and someone else was already complaining. The receptionist kept looking at the waitlist instead of making eye contact or talking through options. I suggested she make eye contact and explain possible solutions to help ease things. A waiter or assistant eventually opened the lounge for people who were waiting, which helped. The front desk had been kind enough to let us check in early, possibly because we'd booked two rooms, and I think one was an executive room with a double bed. I'd booked two rooms for the holidays, then called a day beforehand to cancel one because we wouldn't need it. The hotel refused and showed no consideration. The stay at Widus Hotel Clark was memorable for all the wrong reasons. The lack of flexibility and the way guests were handled left us with a lasting negative impression. We'd choose another hotel in the area, even if Widus were the only option left.

Room service and the front-of-house staff stood out. They were polite, attentive, and kept accommodating my requests. The hotel facilities also gave me a solid experience. I did find the guard on duty unprofessional, and his manner and communication lacked the courtesy I'd expect. Better guest-facing communication from security would improve the arrival experience. I've stayed at Widus Hotel and found the service staff friendly, though management has a couple of things to address. The security team's conduct needs attention, and breakfast pricing could better match the value.

The pool was a favorite with the kids, and my family enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and roomy on my first trip to Clark and Widus. If you're on level 1, the balcony gets dusty, so wear the hotel slippers if you're going out to smoke or dry a shirt. The breakfast was just a bonus, nothing special. I use the gym, and while it's small, some machines weren't working. When I tilted the lime water dispenser lever, purple liquid came out, so it seemed like it had been sitting untouched for a while. The treadmill also needs maintenance: it suddenly stopped while I was on it, which could make someone fall, so watch out if you're using it. Thanks, Widus.

The location is near the Nlex Exit. We booked an executive suite, and the first thing I noticed was that it wasn't well lit. We arrived at 11:30am with three children and asked the receptionist about checking in early. She said we couldn't, which we understood because it was a busy season. We were told they'd call when the room was ready, so we spent time around the area. By 4:20pm, we still hadn't heard anything. I went back to the same receptionist to ask why they hadn't called. I was frustrated, but she showed no remorse and handled it very poorly. They handed over the room key, and that was all. We also didn't get concierge help with our bags. Service: one star.
