Solitude Acacia Resort

The diving was excellent and completely worth the trip. Allan was an incredible, calm divemaster, and we saw loads of amazing creatures across a whole range of areas. The resort itself is lovely, the staff are friendly, and our room had a great view. We came to Solitude Acacia hoping to dive for nudibranchs. We’re vegan, and the kitchen had been recommended to us. The staff had recorded us as vegetarian, though, so the first day was difficult. There are only limited vegan menu choices, despite reassurance beforehand that the kitchen could prepare more on request. The resort apologized on day two, and the chef made us lovely food, but the next day’s meal wasn’t as good. I think it depended on which chef was working. Staff didn’t know what vegan meant, which is quite common throughout the Phillipines because veganism isn’t common. If you have dietary preferences, be sure to repeat them every time.

The sunset spot is fantastic, and my family and I may have found our new go-to outside Manila. There’s plenty to keep adults and kids busy, including introductory dive courses, snorkeling, and island hopping, so it’s hard to get bored. The food was probably the best I’ve had in the Batangas area. We had an amazing three-night stay, thanks to staff who went well beyond what I expected. Big thanks to the management and staff for making it so memorable.

I stayed five days for diving, and the location worked really well for dive trips. The staff were excellent, polite, and helpful, and the food was really good, among the best I’ve had at a diving resort so far. The room was clean, although the floor stayed humid because of the weather.

The beach scenery was stunning, with crystal-blue water, soft sand, and sunsets that seemed almost unreal. We could enjoy it from the balcony or down by the shore. The bar was another favorite: a good range of cocktails, classic drinks, premium spirits, wine, and mocktails, all made with care. The bartenders were friendly and knew their stuff, and were happy to suggest something new. Our room was spotless and calming, with fresh linens and an immaculate bathroom. Housekeeping refreshed it daily, changed the towels every time, and kept things organized. Room service was prompt and courteous. Meals at the restaurant were excellent, from hearty breakfasts to local dishes and international favorites, all fresh and nicely presented. From arrival, the staff made us feel welcome with warm, professional, attentive service. The resort exceeded our expectations and gave us a comfortable, relaxing stay. Highly recommended.
