We stayed from 21 to 23 Feb, 3days 2 night, because they serve halal breakfast. The door guy was the only one who greeted us with a smile when we arrived or went out. The live music was nice, but it went on until 12am and was so loud we could hear it in our room on the 18th floor. I couldn't sleep until after midnight. The room felt quite old. Its AC was very noisy at night, so it was either that noise or trying to sleep in the heat. Outside music was also very loud, even around 1-2am. Worst of all, there were lots of cockroaches in the room, on the work table and in the toilet. I reported them, and staff said someone would come, but nobody showed up for an hour. I was sleepy and tired, so I called back and asked them to handle it the next day. The guy arrived two hours after the report, and I had to explain it all again. The staff clearly weren't communicating. The shower curtain smelled really gross, the water flow was weak, and the shower head was hard to adjust because it was fixed to the wall. There was no small face or hand towel, just a body towel. They provided only bar soap for bathing and hand washing, no liquid soap, and only a small amount of packaged shampoo and conditioner, not enough for 2-3 people. At check-in, reception didn't smile or greet us, not even with a welcome or thank you. There are three elevators, all slow and small. There was no outlet near the bed and no tissue in the room except toilet tissue. I put the do not disturb sign on the door before going out, but housekeeping ignored it and cleaned while I had money and valuables in the room. I'd give it -5 out of 10 if I could. Save your money and stay elsewhere. The service, cleanliness, and room amenities were really disappointing, and management was poor. To all Muslims, don't choose it just for the halal breakfast if that means sacrificing the rest of your stay. Make a wise choice.

Reception could be a little more flexible, especially when a regular guest arrives tired and the room isn't ready.

The location is a plus: it's in the middle of Makati, with lots of restaurants within walking distance. But after six nights at the Berjaya Makati, I couldn't wait to leave. The building badly needs renovation, and the AC in my first room wouldn't cool it. Loud music from a nearby pub or nightclub made a peaceful night's sleep impossible. When I raised this with reception, they first said the hotel was full, but eventually moved me. The new room was better, except its AC didn't work at all. I somehow got through the stay. I would never recommend it. My score: 3/10.

At The Sala restaurant in the Berjaya Makati Hotel lobby, Ree An gave 5 star customer service. She anticipated what I might need, and as a 70 year old PWD, I appreciated her kindness when I dropped my phone. I enjoyed the 3 egg omelette and fantastic French Toast. The Pineapple shake started with a fresh pineapple, which Ree An cut and blended into a treat for my taste buds. For such a high-quality, delicious meal, the prices were very reasonable.

The food was flavorful and nicely presented, and the buffet breakfast staff were attentive, polite, and quick to help. Service was well coordinated, and the restaurant staff were friendly and efficient. The welcoming atmosphere and warm greetings made us feel valued throughout the stay. Check-in was fast and hassle-free. The front desk team explained everything clearly, handled our room request nicely, and were courteous and professional. Room attendants assisted us well too. Thank you to the front desk and buffet breakfast staff for the excellent service. Good food and highly recommended!
