The room had a bedside plug problem, but reception sent someone up straight away and gave us converters so we could charge our phones. We also had a great time in the cigar lounge, where the gentleman helping us was a delight. He said he was new to it, but I wouldn’t have guessed. My wife and I were here for two nights for our anniversary, and the staff decorated the room with cute touches and a lovely plate of strawberries. We had fantastic massages, then went to the pool late in the evening when it was just us there, which was especially nice. Breakfast was great both mornings, with lots of fabulous options. I especially liked the mac and cheese, which I’d been craving after being away from home for a while. We had a lovely stay and hope to come back.

The heated open-air pool is a great size, and there’s a jacuzzi too. We had a spectacular stay, and the staff were welcoming in every role. They spoke and replied in English even when we spoke Tagalog. Our two-bedroom room was huge and cost about ₱13000 a night, which felt well worth it. The amenities look classy, though some of the wooden furniture seemed lower quality on closer look. Everything else was fine, apart from the living room TV being really small. It’s also handy that One Ayala is just one street away. For now it feels like a hidden local gem, though I suspect more people will catch on. Most guests were from overseas. We loved our visit, and it made our Valentines extra special. We’ll definitely be back.

What made the five nights especially lovely was how welcoming everyone was. Mark in the breakfast area stood out for always going the extra mile. We were greeted with a dessert plate saying “Welcome Home,” and got a room upgrade as well. Our two-bedroom King Suite was spacious, cozy, and had a full kitchen plus a washer/dryer, which was handy for a longer stay. The décor felt a little dated, but also homey. We kept up our workouts in the 24-hour gym, and the heated outdoor infinity pool had nice views and a relaxed feel. There was no “towel police,” which was a refreshing change. Breakfast was included in our package. Some items were the same each day, though the hot dishes changed a little. At ₱1,571 per person, I wouldn’t have thought it worth paying for separately. I was also surprised that a hotel of this supposed caliber sourced its lotions from China. For anyone after a top-notch Makati stay with a home-away-from-home feeling, I’d recommend it.

Danie at the front desk made us feel especially welcome. We had a business suite, and there was loads of room. The buffet breakfast was really good, and the pool was awesome too. We loved the service, location, and the whole stay. I’d happily recommend this hotel and stay again.

The pool was a lovely bonus, with beautiful city views. We were in transit between the Philippines and South Korea for our 9th wedding anniversary, and the staff made the stay feel special with a room upgrade and a gorgeous welcome. Such warm hospitality. I’d book again when we come back through Manila :)
