For a budget traveler on a short stay, the price was cheap, and the place was clean with free breakfast, which was a plus. The female dormitory doesn't have its own bathroom, so the bathroom and restroom are too far from the room. I also struggled with the lights and charging sockets. The elevator is very outdated, and I wouldn't recommend this hostel if you're carrying a heavy trolley.

The staff are lovely, but for the price I expected much better. The rooms were small and damp, the air conditioner was loud and barely worked, and breakfast wasn't served at the stated hours. The place felt more like a crack den than a “boutique” hostel.

We paid 1400p for a private room with a shared bathroom, which felt too expensive for what we got. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom and shower were in good shape with hot water. People were nice, and there's a shared living room with a TV and lots of movies, plus a book exchange shelf. There are good hotels at that price.

I felt at home at HiLik. It's a nice, quiet place, and the rate is cheap, with a discount available if you ask. The staff are very accommodating, and the facilities are clean, especially the comfort room, bathroom, and bed. They have unlimited juice and coffee anytime, just ask the front desk. I could watch as much TV and DVD movies as I wanted in the common living area. The location is great, with transportation, food, clothes, convenience stores, and malls all very close. I'd recommend it to friends visiting Makati, Philippines. Shokran, toda raba, kamsahamnida, danke, harigato.

I first got lost trying to find the hostel, even with Google map, because it's hard to see from the street. Ask where Socialicious tee is, and you'll spot the Hilik Hostel sign nearby. I was surprised to learn there's such an affordable backpackers inn in Makati. A British friend I met at a couchsurfing event stayed here, and I heard that 500php a day gets you a shared room with free WiFi and breakfast. It's a cozy hostel on Makati Ave., Makati, Philippines.
