The staff were nice and tried to make up for management’s shortcomings, but the hotel and service-apartment operations didn’t seem well thought through. Parking is uncertain: they’ll tell you where to park and whether nearby guards might watch for clamping, but there’s no guarantee. You could still wake up to a clamped car, even after tipping the guard. We booked the largest room on the top floor, the fourth, and while it was nice for a hundred euros, there’s no elevator. Carrying heavy luggage up those stairs was a real turn-off. Breakfast also meant walking two blocks away. The room in Poblacion might be lovely, but having guests sort out parking, climb to their rooms, and walk for breakfast made the whole stay frustrating, annoying, tiring, and stressful. At the exact same price, Victoria Court has much better fun designed rooms and brings everything straight to your doorstep. If Unwind doesn’t sort these issues out, I don’t think the rooms will ever be fully booked.

The only downside was some noise now and then because the ground floor is still being renewed. Otherwise, this is one of the most comfortable places I’ve stayed in Makati, and I’d definitely recommend it. The room was cozy, quiet, spacious, and fully furnished, with kitchen tools, a ref, kettle, dinnerware, air purifier, and JBL bluetooth speaker. The soft drinks weren’t free, and nobody told us. As the name LUX suggests, it feels luxurious, with murals from Hermès. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

The room was comfortable, clean, and well equipped, with a stocked kitchen and spacious, comfortable beds. The bathroom was very clean too. A water refiller just outside our room was handy, and the building and stairwell were clean, with framed Hermes scarves decorating them. It’s in the heart of Poblacion, a short walk from Powerplant Mall and Koreatown, with plenty of cozy restaurants and fun speakeasies nearby. There’s no elevator, so the stairs could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues or heavy bags. Check-in at Unwnd Lux Hostel, two corners down the street, was seamless, and they took us to the flats in the hostel’s customized tuk-tuk. Customer service was exceptional. The hostel has the other facilities, including a gym and restaurant. I’ll definitely stay here again.
