We chose S and M Hotel in Mandaue after Typhoon Tino left our home without electricity or water. We needed somewhere to rest with basic utilities, but our stay added to the stress instead. The service wasn’t worth what we paid, and the lack of information was disheartening. Guests should be told about facility limits, especially in a crisis. If we’d known, we would have made other arrangements. At check-in, the staff didn’t tell us the generator couldn’t provide power for long. It ran for about an hour, then shut down and left us without electricity again. There was no water either because of technical issues, which also hadn’t been disclosed beforehand. The generator seemed outdated and unsuitable for an emergency. We’re very disappointed by the hotel’s lack of transparency and preparedness. We hope management takes this seriously and makes improvements so future guests get better service and clear information.

The pool was nice and very kid-friendly. We’d already paid for extra time to play billiard, and reception gladly said we could continue until 1am. But around 12:30am, the lights were already off. When we asked, the receptionist said the OWNER had turned them off. We hadn’t been warned, and we were still playing and still checked in.

The room was dirty, and the manager walked around smoking like a boss. That didn’t seem professional. Outside, the music was so loud even at midnight that we couldn’t sleep. Sorry, I just want to be honest: I can’t recommend this place. Please read this carefully and be aware. This isn’t a joke, our overall experience deserves 1 star.

I love this hotel. Everything is perfect, and we’ve been staying here for 2 years now. The staff are very friendly, and they accept fur babys too.

There’s no table or side table in the room, so we had nowhere to eat or put our belongings beside the bed. Still, the room, sheets, and towels were clean, and the AC was cold. My son and I got to use the pool. The hotel is near the airport by taxi or grab, but there’s no public transpo passing by.
