The receptionist spoke English, which made things comfortable, and the sheets were fantastic. The pillows were firm, too. Check-in is at 3 p.m. and checkout at noon, with late checkout available for Gold members. The pool stays open until 10 p.m. It’s on the sixth floor, clean, and its current made swimming easy. Think of it as Shilla Stay. It costs 1,000 pesos less than other Marriotts, about 25,000 won less. There’s a 7-Eleven six minutes away on foot along the main road. Nearby, there’s also a convenience store with pickup and delivery and a laundromat. The hotel currently has a Marriott promotion for an extra 2,500 points. Very clean and friendly.

The staff were amazing, and parking was safe and easy. I liked the pool, it’s fine for doing a few laps. The location is accessible, but there’s no public transport, so you’ll need a Grab or your own car. Breakfast was great, though don’t expect it to be like Sheraton’s :). I thought it was better than Fairfield Mactan Cebu.

Breakfast was well worth the price. They had plenty of choices, including sikwate and Cebu’s puto maya with muscovado sugar, so it wasn’t the usual continental spread. The morning servers were excellent and helped explain the food to my children, who were visiting the country for the first time. Dinner was a different story. Our server kept chatting with coworkers, wandered off after we ordered, and forgot what we’d asked for. The dining room was quiet, and we were very disappointed with the food. The burger came out medium-well to well-done instead of medium, the Bam-i was dry with hardly any ingredients, and the egg drop sandwich was very sweet and greasy, though huge. The coffee tasted bitter with a sour hint, like it might have been reheated from the morning, and the sweet potato soup was just meh. We stayed at Fairfield for four days as a family. The rooms were clean, and the friendly doormen and welcoming, accommodating receptionists made a good first impression. They screen bags by X-ray when you enter the building. There’s a safe in the room, but the mini fridge didn’t get cold enough to chill drinks. Housekeeping left us one set short of towels each day, so we always had to ask for more. The bathroom has a frosted glass door and an updated shower with a rain shower, wand shower, or faucet to choose from. My brother got bites on his arms, legs, and torso. The couch could use shampooing. It felt like there might be dust mites, since whenever I sat there, I ended up with bites on the backs of my thighs and bottom. Most of the staff throughout the place were friendly and helpful. I’d stay here again when I return to Cebu.

My parents enjoyed their stay and were impressed by how clean their bedroom was. I’m happy when they’re happy. They’re retirees who moved to Cebu from Chicago a couple of years ago, and this was my Christmas gift to them, a quick three-day getaway. I booked through my Marriott Bonvoy account while I was in the United States. Although I didn’t experience the room or on-site service myself, the hotel team made it easy for my parents to check in on my behalf, and the email communication was excellent. Philip Niño Morado and Mikka Ella Mayol were professional, responsive, and clear throughout, making everything stress-free despite the distance. Their help reflects Marriott’s commitment to guest care. I’d recommend Fairfield Mandaue to anyone booking for family members abroad. Thanks again!

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the pool was a nice place to relax. The staff were friendly, though they seemed confused and overwhelmed while we were there. I’ve stayed at several Marriott and Fairfield by Marriott locations and have usually been impressed by their standards, but this property fell short on food and drink service. Breakfast was low quality, usually a Fairfield highlight. The pancakes were raw in the middle, even the fried eggs tasted off, and the dining tables weren’t kept clean. We waited over half an hour for a simple noodle soup that shouldn’t take more than five minutes. At dinner, both the fish and chips and pasta were badly cooked and extremely oily. The Piña Colada looked more like a pineapple shake and came in a half-full plastic glass. The rooms and pool are solid, but the kitchen and food service need serious work. I’d be satisfied staying for the room, but would eat elsewhere until management addresses the food issues.
