Grand Apartelle

The studio was spacious, with a kitchenette and sink, dining set for two, fridge, and a spacious bathroom. There was plenty of parking, a pool, Wi-Fi that worked on and off, and two bottled waters, two bath towels, and 2-in-1 shampoo and bath gel. The bedroom was roomy too. I originally booked four days and three nights, but plans changed and we stayed only three days and two nights. There was no housekeeping at all. We had to borrow a dustbin and broom ourselves, and over the next two days the trash wasn’t collected, water bottles weren’t refilled, towels weren’t replaced, and even the toilet paper ran out. The website promises everyday housekeeping, so that was a letdown. The showerhead was broken, the hot shower didn’t work, and there was no bidet. The AC was far from the bed, making it humid to sleep. There was a range hood but no induction cooker or electric stove. I shortened the stay and contacted RedDoorz. They said the hotel was responsible for the refund, but the front desk said RedDoorz had to return my money. It was a hassle, especially since I paid extra for the refundable voucher. We’re still exchanging emails with RedDoorz about the refund, but Grand Apartelle won’t issue it. I contacted Grand Apartell on Facebook too, with no response. Is this just robbery, low-key? Are we supposed to beg for alms, just so you can buy coffee and SkyFlakes for your car? I’m hesitant to recommend this apartelle to family or friends. The bad experience outweighed the good. Two out of five stars.

The place has a full kitchen and a kitchen table with two chairs, so it works well if you want to cook and stay a while. The rooms were great and very clean, and the price was good for the value. The pool is tiny but usable. Getting around is the drawback. It’s in the middle of nowhere, with no easy access to anything unless you walk some distance or take a taxi. It’s better if you have your own vehicle, especially since there’s good parking.

The place felt secure, and the room had a closet, cable TV, Wi-Fi, a fridge, water heater, AC, and complimentary bottled water, shower gel, and shampoo. The pool was there, though I’m not sure whether it costs extra. Our fridge wasn’t working.

We booked ahead and stayed here twice. The rooms smelled a bit, there was no reception in the room, and the Wi-Fi never really worked. I wouldn’t stay again.
