S and M Hotel - Mandaue

We booked S and M Hotel in Mandaue as a temporary place to stay after Typhoon Tino left our home without power or water. We needed somewhere to rest with basic utilities, but the stay added to our stress instead. The hotel charged an amount that didn’t feel justified by what we received. At check-in, staff didn’t tell us that the generator could only run for about an hour before shutting down. We were left without electricity again, and there was no water either because of technical issues, which also hadn’t been disclosed. The generator seemed outdated and unsuitable for an emergency. The lack of preparation and transparency was very disappointing. Guests should be told about facility limitations, especially during a crisis. If we’d known, we would have made other arrangements. The experience was frustrating and disheartening. I hope management takes this seriously and improves both service and transparency for future guests.

The pool and rooms were okay for the price, and there was a 7/11 nearby. The staff were helpful.

The pool is nice and very kid-friendly. We had already paid to extend our billiard time, and reception said we could play until 1am. But at around 12:30am, the lights were turned off. When we asked, the receptionist said the OWNER had switched them off. We hadn’t been warned, and we were still playing and still checked in.

I love this hotel. Everything’s been perfect, and we’ve been staying here for two years now. The staff are very friendly, and they accept fur babies too.
