The Filipino merienda spread at UMA in Maayo Hotel was comforting and memorable, with favorites like lomi, chocolate champorado, sekwate with puto maya, bibingka, halo-halo, and other local treats. I took my time with everything. The hot sekwate went perfectly with the puto maya, one of the best I’ve had, and the ube biko was rich and flavorful. The palabok was unforgettable. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the dinuguan with puto cheese was especially memorable, easily one of the best versions I’ve tried. Everything seemed thoughtfully prepared. The service felt truly 5-star, warm, attentive, and welcoming. Deneb, the supervisor, recognizes me from visits to Maayo Residences while visiting my mom. I appreciate that he checks on me and welcomes my feedback. Rovie Ann, Enrique, and Jenell also gave excellent service and hospitality. Jenell even helped me take photos and videos so I could share the experience, which I really appreciated. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a comforting, authentic Filipino merienda experience in Cebu.

We needed rest and a warm welcome after being committed to the hospital next door. Insurance reasons meant we didn’t have a room, but they still welcomed us like real guests. The massages were great, and so was the atmosphere. Jeffrey and Andrea helped us out, even sorting out what seemed impossible, getting us a taxi during rush hour. Thanks to both of them. We’ll book a room another time, in better circumstances. Also, try the burger. The restaurant is great and not expensive!

On February 6, 2026, my fiancée and I got scammed by a Facebook page using the name Maayo Hotel. We’d traveled early that morning from Naga Cebu to Hagnaya port, planning to celebrate our anniversary at Bantayan Cebu, but the typhoon cancelled all trips. After the long journey back toward Cebu City, we decided to stay at a hotel. We were tired and scrolling Facebook when we came across the fake page. We didn’t check it carefully and booked and paid while travelling, wanting to get it settled quickly. At the hotel, we were looking forward to finally resting, but the front desk told us there was no booking under our name and that we’d been scammed. I felt my knees go weak and was close to breaking down. I partly accepted it was our fault too, since we hadn’t verified the page. As we were about to leave, the manager came over and said we weren’t the first people scammed by that fake page. She handled everything smoothly and helped us as much as she could. After such an exhausting day, her quick action made it better. To the manager who helped us, we truly appreciate your efforts. Maayo Hotel will be our go-to from now on. Thank you!

The staff made us feel welcome even though we checked in well past midnight after a long travel day. They were smiling, lively, helpful, and professional, and every interaction was pleasant. Our family found the hotel calm and comfortable, with clean, well-maintained rooms that were good for resting and recharging. Breakfast was good, though more choices for children would help families with young kids. We couldn’t use the pool because it was under maintenance during our stay. A 24-hour convenience store or food shop would also be useful for late arrivals or families wanting a quick snack. Maayo Hotel felt safe, accessible, and welcoming for kids and senior citizens. We had a very good family stay and would return on our next visit to Cebu.

The pool was being updated and unavailable during our stay. The room was cool and clean, the food was good, and the place was very clean and worth the money. The staff were so nice and really made the visit, especially the dining staff. The Americano was quite good too.
