Bay Area Suites Manila - Quarantine Hotel

The lobby crew and housekeepers were good, and I had no issue with OWWA arranging my stay before giving me free fare home to Davao City. But I don't know whether my airport companion had some arrangement with a kitchen staff member. On my last meal, something felt off between her and the kitchen man, though I personally had no problem with her. More seriously, I didn't feel my room was safe when I went out for meals. Some staff seemed to have extra access, and I worry that people with bad intentions could enter. Several things went missing from my backpack, even though I hadn't opened my luggage. Staff like that shouldn't be tolerated, since it damages OWWA's image as well as the hotel's. God bless and more power!

The owner didn't respond when the problems were reported, which made an already frustrating stay worse. My mother's partner stayed in Unit 1412 at Bay Area Suites, where there was visible dirt, grime in the corners, and insects inside the cabinets. The unit seemed poorly maintained and unhygienic. Paying $177 for those conditions felt unreasonable and greedy. I wouldn't recommend it without major improvements to cleanliness, upkeep, and responsiveness. DISGUSTING. FILTHY. AND 100% MONEY HUNGRY OWNER.

When we went to the desk after waiting about 50 minutes for the housekeeper who was supposed to fix things, the staff brushed us off and didn't apologize. They'd been rude and unprofessional when we raised the issue of losing power. The electricity was shut off repeatedly, apparently only in our room, because the owner had to keep paying the bill through Gcash. The stay was a disaster, and I strongly advise booking somewhere else. The hotel fell short on basic hospitality, cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and service. It was miserable.

We stayed one night, and the room smelled awful, like it hadn't been used in a decade. The receptionist wasn't paying attention while we gave the requested details, and the amenities didn't match what was advertised. The lobby was noisy, almost like a supermarket, staff included. At checkout they charged us P300 for a supposedly missing teaspoon, even though we're sure we didn't have anything of theirs. Such a letdown.
