Brightwood Residences is a clean, well-kept, affordable option for backpackers and other budget travelers. The staff are pleasant and accommodating, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. It’s also very convenient for the LRT station. They provide a bath towel, but no other toiletries. The bathroom and toilet are shared, though I think that may depend on the room you book. For the price, that’s a minor issue.

The staff are the best part here. Everyone from the guard and cleaners to the receptionists is helpful. The morning male receptionist is especially polite and accommodating. Guests are always coming and going, and the hotel is nearly always full, but even when they’re tired from helping guests and cleaning rooms, the staff keep smiling and stay very polite.

I stayed in Room 101. For what I paid, I’d highly recommend this newly opened place in Vito Cruz, Manila. It’s a good spot just for sleeping, close to De La Salle University, a short walk from Vito Cruz LRT, and surrounded by restaurants. The staff are nice too. The room was okay. Mobile signal was weak, but the wifi was fairly fast. Note: the bidet is on the left side.

The staff keep the hotel clean, but the renovation is still going on. My room was right by the work area, so the grinders were really loud, and I could smell cement dust inside.
