Festive Hotel

The photos don't show what the place is really like. It was filthy throughout, everything felt sticky, and the dirt was disgusting. This was the worst hotel I could imagine spending a holiday or vacation in. It definitely isn't a 3-star hotel, or even a 2-star or 1-star one. The hotel claims to be 3-star and deceives people, and it's in a very dangerous neighborhood, definitely not Makati. The room rental doesn't include daily cleaning, toiletries, or towel changes. Even at this price, it isn't worth spending a single minute there. If you're thinking about staying, be aware there are no windows in the rooms, and the air conditioning is so loud you won't be able to sleep for an hour.

Cockroaches in the room were the last straw. We told the staff, who mentioned bug spray, but it never arrived and nobody seemed bothered. The neighborhood wasn’t pleasant either. Our room had no window despite being on the second floor, and the bathroom window was sealed, so there was no daylight, just a wall. The curtains looked like they hadn’t been washed in ages. Photos seem to have been taken just after the room was furnished, because it now looks very dated. The old AC was loud and barely cooled the room, then stopped working on our second night. I understand the low price, but this was too much. I wouldn’t recommend it or stay again.

We booked the Studio Type and the room itself was nice. It felt a little closed in without any windows, though. The old air conditioner was only 1 horsepower and struggled to cool the room.

The café in the lobby can bring food up to the room, and their Filipino breakfast includes an amazing daing na Bangus. The staff are courteous and professional, too. The rooms could use better lighting, but I hope they keep the character that comes from the décor. It’s clearly not the fanciest hotel, yet we generally enjoy staying here and would book again.
