Rizal Park Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at Rizal Park Hotel and would love to return. The room was comfortable and the air-conditioning was perfectly cold, just how we like it. The hotel is beautifully designed, elegant and classic, and very well maintained. It gives a warm, luxurious feeling as soon as you walk in. All the staff were friendly. We especially appreciated the person working by the swimming pool, who was helpful and accommodating. We weren't able to get their name.

The staff were the highlight of the visit: exceptionally friendly, polite, and always smiling. The building is stunning, once an old naval club of sorts, and with a bit of care it could be a five-star property. I booked for the location and infinity pool at sunset, then got an email the day before arrival saying the pool and whole deck were shut for renovations. The notice came too late to change the booking. This was the first hotel I've stayed at without a fridge, and they charged for a bucket of ice. The safe didn't work, the hairdryer holder was broken, and hot water took 10 minutes to come through. We arrived at 8pm and tried ordering room service, but nobody answered. Breakfast choices left a lot to be desired, though it was good enough for our two days.

One star too many. For a four-star hotel, the rooms are basic and dated. We booked a superior room, got upgraded, and still ended up with a broken safe and door hinges that need oiling. Opening the bathroom door at night wakes everyone in the room. Reception had run out of cards, so we couldn't get a second door card. The surroundings are so-so, with no restaurants nearby or some closed. A disco kept us awake until morning. On day one, two of the three elevators were out. On day two, all three were out of order. Breakfast costs 15$/person. The coffee was undrinkable, tea costs extra when you order it, and the food was just so-so. Two stars, no more. 👎👎👎👎

My wife and I have stayed here before and will definitely come again. We love the location, the room, and the ambiance, and the value for money has been worth it. Rizal Park Hotel has a historical vibe. The housekeepers were lovely, and one gentleman went out of his way to help us get a fridge and a safe. I feel bad that I asked his name and have forgotten it. The front and gate security staff were helpful and friendly, and the front desk were amazing, especially John. The Chinese Restaurants staff were less friendly, but staff at the other restaurant opposite were amazing, especially a boy I spoke with. The gym and pool staff upstairs were exceptional. We'd recommend the hotel to family and friends.
