Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel & Casino

There’s a lot to do here, with a pool and lounge area, chapel, bakery and coffee shop, restaurant, meeting rooms, bar with live music, and casino. The place is easy to reach in the heart of Manila. The renovations have given it much-needed energy, and the rooms are plush with more than the basic amenities. Staff were courteous and efficient. We had a great experience, though the hallways sometimes smelled of cigarette smoke.

The sink wouldn’t drain, the mini fridge was broken, and the bedroom phone didn’t work. At first the staff were great, but after I left early and my fiancée stayed an extra day, they treated her disrespectfully. They ignored her when she went to breakfast without me and refused to return the deposit when she checked out because I wasn’t there, even though the room had been booked with her card. I’m extremely upset about how they treated her. Don’t go here!

I booked four days after trusting the positive reviews, and that was a mistake. This doesn’t feel like a four-star hotel. The receptionists weren’t friendly or helpful, and the amenities were old and poorly maintained. The gym was a joke, with old equipment and torn seats. The pool was out of service, and the run-down casino had only a few slot machines. The place badly needs renovation. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

The food was good, and the front desk experience was nice. The place was clean and neat, and all rooms were non-smoking. I did feel the bathroom amenities were a little lacking, and couldn’t find a safe in the rooms, even in the suite. Overall, a good experience.
