The pool was a highlight for us, and we had a lovely time relaxing there. The rock formations are beautiful, and the cottages and layout are really nice too. We thought the beach was okay, but didn’t swim because of the jellyfish warning. Our stay was short, but we loved it. I’d return if I had extra cash to spend, though I took one star off because it felt a bit pricey 😅. They don’t usually allow outside food, but management made an exception for us since it was our first visit.

There was construction going on for refurbishment, and in our cottage a termite trail ran behind the bed toward the roof. The bathroom in the smaller cottage was so cramped it was impossible to move around in it. Service was unbelievably poor. About 90% of the menu wasn’t available, and it took over an hour to get two pancakes.

We only stayed for 1.5 hours, and the kids were the only ones who swam. I paid ₱6,999 plus a ₱400+ service charge, and the visit left us disappointed. It didn’t feel worth the time, money, or the effect on our mood. I’d confirmed with the staff beforehand that we could bring a little food and drink, including rice, adobo, a 1L Coke, and wine, with the ₱6,999 promo at Caluwayan Palm Resort. When my foreign husband and family arrived, staff said there’d be corkage, then changed their minds after they saw I was upset. They later wouldn’t serve the wine we’d brought, even though it had been approved, and the adobo wasn’t served either.

We left after just 1.5 hours, even though it was 1pm and they closed at 5pm. There were no other guests, and we could technically have stayed for four hours. My three nieces were the only ones who swam. The rest of us felt too uncomfortable to enjoy ourselves, so I asked my family to pack up early. We’d paid ₱6,999 plus a ₱400+ service charge, and I didn’t feel good staying any longer. I’d spoken to staff before bringing my family and asked about the combo promo at **Caluwayan Palm Resort and Restaurant**. The ₱6,999 package included rice, grilled chicken (my choice), pool access, and a cottage. I checked in advance whether we could bring one tupperware of rice, a small tupperware of pork adobo, a 1L Coke, and a bottle of wine. They said it was okay as long as it wasn’t too much, so we agreed to the package. But once my husband and family arrived, staff noticed he was a foreigner and told us the rice and drinks weren’t allowed, and that we’d have to pay corkage. They reversed that decision after seeing I was visibly upset, which made the whole thing feel frustrating and unprofessional. When the food came, the adobo was missing. They said they’d put it in a clean serving dish, but it never arrived. They also said we couldn’t bring the wine in after all because of corkage, despite having cleared it earlier. The shifting rules and poor communication made the visit stressful. The resort looked promising from outside, but the service and the way we were treated were a letdown. I wouldn’t recommend it if you expect clear communication, professionalism, or value for your money.

Nothing else comes close for me. The place is clean and naturally beautiful, so the salty water from the faucet and the other small inconveniences barely matter.
