GV Hotel Masbate

It's a great spot for sleeping, within walking distance of Masbate port. But the staff weren't very helpful, and the building is run down and not cleaned well. There was dirt around and stains on the sheets.

The location is handy, close to the city's main street, and staff were helpful and responsive. They didn't have my reservation at first, but eventually managed to accommodate me. There's no elevator, so it's not PWD friendly. The place isn't well maintained: the sink was clogged, there was trash in the room, and the blanket, linen, and pillows had minor stains. The room was really only for sleeping.

The beds were comfortable and the staff were great, amazing and polite. The television had static, the air-conditioner was loud, and there were cobwebs around the sprinkler system with ugly pipes they tried to hide.

I was stuck in Masbate because of the typhoon. It's cheap, but pricey for the service quality. The location helps, since it's near the seaport and a fast food chain. There's no elevator and nobody offered to carry my luggage upstairs. Staff weren't polite. The shower area is small, the toilet was dirty, and basic things like a toothbrush or toilet paper weren't provided.
