Treasure Island Hotel

The room itself was nice, though dated, and the staff were helpful. Still, I was frustrated that nobody managed to get the hot water working after I asked four times, and I never got the call I requested from the manager. Breakfast was a set menu with few Western choices, and it ended at 8:30, which felt too early to me. They served toast without butter, then told me there was none available on two days in a row. There were no PowerPoints next to the bed, either. It's the only hotel of note in town 😢.

The bathroom doorknob was broken and fell off, and getting the shower temperature adjusted would shut the water off, assuming you could get it working at all. Then at checkout, two days after the issue apparently came up, they suddenly asked us for 500 peso for a sheet stain. Nobody had pointed out a stain or any problem earlier, and they hadn't told us before check-in that this was one of their Rules. Treasure Island nickel and dimes you to death.

For ₱3,000 a night, I expected more. The aircon was loud, breakfast wasn't buffet style, and they didn't supply basic toiletries such as toothpaste or shampoo. It was a very disappointing stay.

The restaurant was a bright spot, with decent-tasting food and a unique swimming pool. But the room was the main reason for our stay, and its AC was so noisy it felt like sitting next to machinery. My app measured 72-75 dB from the seat point. Staff said the AC was normal, and because the place was fully occupied they couldn't move us to another room. We also couldn't get a refund to switch hotels for the remaining 4 nights.
