Bluewaves Resort - Basdaku by Hiverooms

We spent most of our time enjoying the quiet beachfront, and it often felt like the resort was almost empty. There was just us and one other couple, whom we barely saw. Blue Waves Resort has its own stretch of beach at Basdaku Beach, and it’s toward the quieter end of White Beach. The busier main area is only a 4-minute walk along the sand. I preferred this calmer side for swimming and relaxing. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and great to talk to. Reception can arrange tours and transport. They set up a tricycle to Panagsama Beach for about 300 pesos one way, roughly a 10-minute ride, though the property is beautiful enough that you might not feel like leaving. You can also rent snorkeling gear and paddleboards, or play darts. Snorkeling right in front of the resort was a highlight: we saw huge schools of sardines, like a free sardine run experience. There’s a terrace bar and restaurant beside the water, with meals and drinks overlooking the ocean. Everything we had there each day was reasonably priced. From 4:00 to 7:00 PM, happy hour gives 20% off beers and cocktails, handy before sunset. On weekends there’s a DJ, which adds some fun without spoiling the relaxed feel. The sunsets are incredible, and people come from other parts of the beach to see them. There are plenty of chairs and tables to sit back, hear the waves, and unwind. The surrounding trees also provide natural shade, which is rare along this beach. If you want a less crowded, laid-back stay with livelier parts of the beach still within easy reach, this place has both. I’ll miss it ❤️❤️❤️❤️
