Crazy Bears Hostel

Comfy beds and good air conditioning, plus the hostel can arrange canyoneering and whale shark bookings without much hassle. You can also rent a snorkel there cheaply, which is handy since the sardine run is only a five-minute walk away. There are plenty of restaurants around, and the staff were lovely and helpful. Big thanks to Sam and Ford at the bar for helping us find some fun nights out. Definitely recommend.

Gabby helped me through a health scare by coming with me to the hospital and staying all day, translating and making sure I was okay. It was a stressful situation, and I’m very grateful for that. The team also looked out for everyone during a typhoon, offering travel advice and keeping guests informed through a WhatsApp group. There are staff on site around the clock. The hostel has a great central hangout space, and Ford and Sam brought loads of energy with games, trivia, beer pong, and more. They made things special for me and the guests I met, and I think of them as friends. It’s also a sociable place with lots to join in on, and the location is great. Sam and Ford were brilliant behind the bar, running quizzes and karaoke and keeping everyone in good spirits, even during the typhoon. The service was excellent, and the rooms were clean, with air purifiers too. The area was lively and close to the sea. Had a great stay at Crazy Bears and would absolutely recommend it.

The social scene was great, the food and drinks were really good, and the staff were about as lovely as they come. Rooms were comfortable and had AC. I loved staying here and would definitely return. Great for backpackers.
