FFG Eden Private Resort

We asked to move rooms after three nights in Barila started off badly. The first room’s air conditioner was broken and so loud we could barely hear each other. We had to turn down the fan and temperature to make it bearable. The second room was larger, but it had the same sticky furniture and floors. Neither room was very clean, and there were no slippers provided. The first bathroom was tiny, and the room didn’t look like the photos we’d been shown. The bucket and dipper looked dirty, too. I can’t recommend the place. I didn’t take pictures because cleanliness is a pet peeve of mine, and these issues really stood out.

My family did enjoy the stay, though it would have been much better with cleaner, better-maintained facilities and more attention to guests. The house was spacious enough for my big family, and the view at FFG Eden Resort was great for the price. But the place felt old, and seemed crowded because day-use guests are allowed, so it didn’t feel exclusive. I didn’t get a warm or welcoming impression from the staff. I can’t say if that’s typical of the area, but in my experience the basic customer service could improve.

The resort is affordable, with nice pools and a beautiful view of the beach, though I didn’t get a chance to swim there. It’s a bit far from the highway, so having your own transport would be best.

I liked the beaches and the surrounding area. The rooms are very basic and probably fine for a night or two, but ours had ants, crickets and lizards. The bed was really bad, and the room felt hot and sticky. The air conditioner blew straight onto the bed, leaving us really cold.
