The private room was spacious, and Ohlala hostel is handy for getting around: the sardine run and rocky beach are about a five-minute walk one way, while the food market is three minutes in the other direction. There are plenty of nearby cafes, bars, and restaurants. The room had no window, so it got stuffy at times. There’s no housekeeping, which was okay, though using the same towel for five days wasn’t great. We still had a nice stay.

The staff were nice, but the room was very dirty. The shower barely worked, and the door code was so hard to make out that it took us ten minutes to get inside. I don’t know how this place has so many good reviews.

Ohlala hostel had a comfortable bed, working air conditioning, and quiet nights. The bathrooms were decent too. We had fun on the Canyoneering tour we booked, and the friendly staff were helpful throughout. There are places to sit and spend time with other travelers both inside and outside the hostel, which gives it a homey feel. I’d recommend staying here.

A few minutes’ walk gets you to the beach, and the rooms are clean. The dorm beds were comfortable and had curtains for privacy. The team were lovely and helpful, and the prices were fair. Showers had hot water and good pressure. I’d recommend it.

Krizel and Jacky were finishing their last day of duty, which made saying goodbye a bit sad. They’re such a warm, friendly part of Ohlala Hostel, always greeting guests with genuine sweetness. It’s easy to see why people come back. Hopefully I’ll see them again soon. ❤️
