Brizo Hotel and Beach Resort

The stay was a letdown from start to finish. Our boss paid an obscene amount for one night, and we came away with a pile of complaints. Food took far too long: one snack order took almost an hour, and no one warned us about the wait. Soft drink prices seemed to change as the hours passed, from P120 to P130, P150, then P160. We asked to charge drinks to our room and gave the room number, only to be told to pay when ordering. Why ask for the number? We could have been charged twice, or charged at checkout without knowing. Our group buffet was so-so. A coffee dispenser was supposed to be for our group, but other guests helped themselves, and some of us missed out. Staff first confirmed it was for our group, then changed their answer and said the other guests had stubs. They should have had a separate dispenser for them. Fruit shake was unavailable, not sold out, just unavailable, though you'd expect it in summer. There was no reception anywhere on the property, so we expected Wi-Fi to be usable, but it only worked in the parking lot. The pool area was too dark at night, the ladies' restroom cubicle had no lock, and our room's AC was too hot even though units in other rooms were okay. The extra mattress we requested was left at the door without anyone knocking or telling us. Poor customer service, a waste of time and money, a rip off. An unforgettable disappointment.

We were a group of around 40, and the parking lot accommodated three commuter vans. Management kindly let us rebook at the last minute without a charge when a typhoon hit during the week of our original booking. The function room fit everyone, but the sound gear seemed poorly maintained. The microphones were muffled and smelled foul when we used them. The AC units weren't well kept, and ceiling fans were needed to cool the room, which made it noisy. The food was okay, cooked in the kitchen and served on time. Snacks were provided during socials. The videoke worked, though its music selection was dated. The attendants were generally courteous. One awkward moment came when I asked for an extra portion of a viand: the attendant hesitated, understandably, since meal portions were more or less fixed, but could have handled the exchange more smoothly. The L-shaped pool was ample for us adults, though it had no kid-friendly 1-2 feet area.

We left after one night even though we'd booked three, and I can't recommend the hotel at the price we paid. Wi-Fi was only available in reception. Breakfast included a very limited amount for two people per room, and we had to pay extra for more. The staff tried hard, but the experience wasn't worth it.

After a five-hour drive from Laguna to Bataan, we arrived excited to stay at Brizo Hotel and Beach Resort, only to have the receptionist refuse our check-in because we had our cat with us. Neither the website nor our booking confirmation said pets weren't allowed. That unclear policy left us without a place to stay after the long trip and turned it into a disaster. Based on what happened to us, we don't recommend this resort to people traveling with pets. Its poor communication and lack of accommodation for pet owners deserve a zero rating.
