Villa Caceres Hotel

The New Year's Eve party was one of the best I've ever been to. The hotel and city closed Magsaysay street to vehicles, with a street party and music festival under a sky full of fireworks. My family and I stayed for the Christmas and New Year holidays, and we're so glad we did. General Manager Lyn Santy and the welcoming staff made our stay feel like being at a family home. Our room was cozy, with dark wood finishes and a bed so comfortable I could melt into it. The breakfast buffet had a wide choice of Filipino and Western food. The pool, sauna, gym, and spa services were high quality and good value, and Rolando’s offered great room service and dinner options. VCH is a must if you're visiting Naga City!

This is my first Google review, and I'm writing because the service was terrible. My company has booked here multiple times, and most of my experiences have been awful. The TV and air conditioner were broken. We followed up every day, but they didn't fix either one. They gave us a fan instead of repairing the aircon. The water looked kind of rusty, and I was checked in over two hours after my scheduled time. I definitely wouldn't book here personally.

The location is the only thing that keeps me coming back. I've stayed here a few times because of it, but each visit has left me with something to complain about, and this will be my last. Check-in is at 2pm, and I arrived late, so I expected the room to be ready. It wasn't. They said five minutes, but I got the keycard 15 minutes later. Then, from our room on the fourth floor, I had to haul all our bags back down to reception because the keycard was defective. At breakfast, the buffet staff nearby were inattentive. We were a group of seven, and nobody helped us set up a table, so I had to get utensils from other tables. They also shortchange customers. Giving exact change is the establishment's responsibility, and otherwise it's illegal. On an earlier stay, we were served cold food at Rolando's, and when I complained, nobody followed up. Go to another hotel. I've heard Lotus Blu and Summit are better choices, and there are other hotels around too.

The location worked really well for us, just a short walk from the Peñafrancia race starting line, and the staff were friendly. Our room was clean and service was good overall. The economy double uses two single beds pushed together, which wasn't comfortable for a couple, so next time I'll book the Standard Double. We also ran into problems with the door lock and water quality, both of which the hotel should improve.
