The staff were very nice and often well trained, and the place itself is lovely. The sandy beach has warm water for swimming and a view of a wooded hill. Beach toilets were clean, rooms spacious, and there are three restaurants, including one by the beach, with options for different tastes. Breakfast buffet was good, and room service had no extra charge. You can’t bring your own wine to other areas, though, so you have to drink it in your room. Even if you pay a lot for a room, you can still feel like a second-class guest. There are only a few umbrellas, though there seems to be space for more, and you have to claim one around 6am to get a shaded bench. Nearby umbrellas and benches sit empty in an area reserved for members. Getting there was also frustrating. At the Pico de Loro entrance, which felt like a military checkpoint, taxis and tricycles can’t take you all the way to the hotel. You have to pay for their PHP 350 van to cover the remaining 3 kilometres, and my driver asked for PHP 400 when I left. Walking those 3 kilometres isn’t allowed. The hotel description says you can explore the large grounds, but when I asked about a trail, I was told I’d need to pay PHP 2.500 for a staff escort. Construction is still underway. With more buildings, there could be more people on the beach, which can’t be expanded.

The butler service was a real highlight, attentive and helpful without getting in the way. The pool was clean and a lovely place to spend a slow afternoon, and breakfast had fresh, well-prepared essentials without an overwhelming spread. Pico Sands Hotel feels calm from the moment you enter the spacious, welcoming lobby. It isn’t flashy, and that’s part of its appeal. Things work smoothly and it’s easy to unwind.

Lagoa was a good choice for dinner and breakfast. The adobo and pinakbet are worth trying, and the buffet lunch had plenty of variety, with good quality and a broad selection. Staff were warm and accommodating throughout, and we appreciated being able to check in an hour early after calling ahead to confirm the room was ready. The room was clean, and the air conditioning worked well without much noise. There were a few small issues: some faucets leaked, the refrigerator was dated, and TV options were limited. For a five-star stay, getting to the beach could be easier. The pool is small and often crowded. I might try another five-star beach resort next time for more convenient beach access.

The beach and lagoon are beautiful, and it’s relaxing to wander around the grounds. Our room was spacious and clean, with very comfortable beds. There’s lots to do on site, so we never got bored, though food is pricey since you’re pretty much tied to the resort. Weekends can get crowded. Still, it’s a solid quick getaway from the city, especially with kids.

We had such a good stay at Pico Sands Hotel and would come back with my husband. The beach was a favorite, with clean, fine sand and seawater that didn’t taste as salty as at other beaches we’ve visited. There’s a beach bar for drinks, and the pool water was a comfortable temperature, not too cold. Free lockers are available near the pool after registering, and the nearby restrooms were very clean and air-conditioned. The free shuttle ran around every 5 minutes between the beach, clubhouse, and other areas. There were occasional small delays, but another shuttle came soon. We also liked the cashless, cardless payment system: at the beach or restaurants, you just give your room number and sign. Senior citizens and guests with disabilities should bring their IDs or cards for discounts. The hotel and our room were extremely clean, and the place was beautiful and relaxing. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. JM at the front desk explained the facilities clearly and made check-in smooth and welcoming. Our room was ready, so we were allowed to check in early at 1:00 PM. The food at the hotel restaurants was delicious, from Filipino dishes to pasta and pizza. Breakfast was unlimited and everything served was worth it. We had a small problem with the blinds, but Engineering fixed it right away. Thanks to Joshua from Housekeeping, who was assigned to the 4th floor during our stay, and to the gentleman from Engineering who helped us. The only other concern was that the room lights were dim, making it a little hard to see our things sometimes. Better lighting would be helpful, especially for senior guests. The air conditioning, on the other hand, was excellent, very cold and comfortable. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend the hotel. We’ll surely return.
