Blue Rock Beach Resort

It’s much quieter here than it used to be, almost a ghost town now, but the beachside location is fantastic. Nights were peaceful, with no roosters or dogs, and I slept well. If you want solitude and can live with the place’s condition, it may suit you. I was here three years ago and stayed just one night this time. The place seemed like it hadn’t been maintained since my last visit. My first room had a very loud AC, but they moved me to another one that was tolerable. That room had bathroom plumbing leaks, though. Breakfast was bacon, eggs, and instant black coffee, with no toast or anything else, for ₱415, which felt a little expensive for the area.

The location is prime and the food was good, but I’d suggest looking at the nearby hotels since there are plenty of choices. The hotel itself needs better upkeep. The staff were polite, though I wasn’t impressed with the management. WiFi was listed in the booking but never worked, and they wouldn’t accept card payments.

It used to be a great place, but now it’s run down and the food was rubbish. Avoid it at all costs.

I came back because this place holds happy memories for me. When I was in my late 20s, it was on the front page of bluebook, and I had a lot of fun here, including drinks by the beach with friends. Now that I’m married, I wanted to revisit and share that with my husband. We were comfortable during our stay, and the front desk ate was funny. The kuya who I think looks after the area kept it neat. It’s an affordable room, so if you’re very picky or expect everything to be perfect, this may not be the place for you. I do hope the owner pays more attention to keeping the pool and grounds clean and adds staff to check rooms for maintenance. We’re understanding customers, but more attention would help. Even so, we loved staying here.
