Central Park Reef Resort

We had a smooth check-in and check-out, and because we arrived very early, the front desk let us check in ahead of time without an extra charge. The room was clean, though the sliding balcony door didn't lock properly. The facilities could use some upkeep and repainting. We enjoyed both infinity pools, on the ground floor and 6th floor. Food was average, but the parking was good and the location convenient, with other places to eat nearby if you don't want hotel food. I'd recommend staying here and would come back.

Breakfast was another major frustration. We ordered early, but guests who ordered after us got served first. After waiting over an hour for two omelets, they arrived made differently from what we'd asked for, and staff said there was a kitchen issue. At checkout, they apologized for our concerns but didn't take any further action. The hotel is conveniently located in Subic and the parking was good. The rest of the experience was very disappointing, though. Our first room had visible stains on the bedding and pillows, plus a small bug. We were moved, but found the same problem there. Housekeeping eventually changed the linens, only after we'd tried to rest. At about 3:00 AM, the refrigerator started making very loud noises over and over at regular intervals. It also made the wooden console vibrate and kept waking me. I reported it to the front desk, but they didn't offer an immediate solution. Between the repeated cleanliness issues, noise during the night, long breakfast delay, and lack of meaningful service recovery, I didn't get a restful stay. It didn't meet basic expectations for comfort and service.

The room was clean and had a good bed, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The beach is sandy and nice, and without the sewerage problem it'd be a nice place to sit and swim. But there's a sewerage drain beside the hotel flowing straight into the ocean where people swim. For a 4 star establishment, that's a disgrace, and I wouldn't book here again. It's in the middle of town with plenty of traffic. Breakfast isn't included, which makes the stay overpriced for what it is and certainly not worth a 4 star rating. The hotel could use better maintenance, something that seems to be an issue at a lot of hotels in this country.

The staff are still very professional and attentive, and the location and service made for a pleasant stay. We were here in 2021 when it was new, and there's some visible wear and tear now. That's understandable for a beachfront hotel, but I hope maintenance keeps up. We booked two Executive Rooms for four adults since there's no family room. The Deluxe Room with two queen beds could fit four, but it has only one bathroom and costs more, so the Executive rooms were the better deal. The ground floor cafe and pool run from 7 AM to 4 PM, while the rooftop pool and restaurant are open 4 PM to 12 MN. It'd be better if both were open at once since they're small and get crowded. Food is a bit pricey and the menu limited, so many guests order through Grab. A convenience store inside or nearby would also be handy for quick snacks and essentials.
