Grand Hoyah Hotel

The staff were nice, but that's about the only good thing I can say. The rooms are old and poorly maintained, and the hallway carpets are old and nasty. Breakfast was a disaster, with cold buffet food that wasn't heated. When we mentioned it, they just smiled and walked away. There was no internet for two days. I work remotely, so I had to leave, and I couldn't stay without a connection. I left two nights unused and won't be back. I'm sorry to complain, but I hate wasting money, and this felt like a total waste. The location isn't too bad, but there isn't much going on in the city. There were very few customers from the west, only Filipinos. That's okay, though I understand why no westerners were there. The price was expensive for what you get: no pool, no internet, and a horrible restaurant. Hallway music also played all night. It was not a good stay. Bummer.

For a reasonably priced hotel among luxury hotels, this worked out well. Breakfast was included, with about a dozen different menu choices. The staff were quick and efficient, and plenty of restaurants, ATMs, and bars were within walking distance. No issues at all.

The rooms were big and clean, with steady hot water, strong air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. The TV only had static cable, no Netflix. The walls are thin, so you can hear other people. The gym is on the top floor, in the hallway rather than a room, and there's no air conditioning there. There's a KTV lounge on the first floor, with the smallest room costing 800p an hour. The first-floor restaurant serves food 24/7 and includes complimentary breakfast with a side-choice buffet. The food was decent, though hit or miss depending on what you order. Service was decent too. They made sure I had what I needed and respected my privacy. It's near harber point mall and most areas are just a walk away. A great deal for a hotel, and I'd recommend it if you're focused on activities outside the hotel instead of spending your vacation there.

The balcony view and rooms were really nice, and I recommend the breakfast too 💯. My family enjoyed staying here for my father’s birthday. I'll be back with my husband!
