Subic Bay Yacht Club

The welcome tea was one of my favorite things, it was so delicious. The views around Subic Bay Yacht Club were beautiful, and staff around the property were friendly and attentive. At the pool, they brought towels over right away. The casino was nice, though some machines were broken. Our first impression was good too. Entrance staff warmly greeted us, opened the door, carried our bags, and brought them to the room while we checked in. The manager was kind and handled things professionally when we raised concerns, moving us to another room. You need to know there’s a ₱6,000 deposit, and they don’t take GCash, so bring cash or a debit card. The rooms were disappointing. The first was dirty, with broken balcony tiles that felt unsafe at night, a damaged bathroom door, a dirty fridge, and missing buttons on the spa bath. The second room still had a dirty fridge and a toilet that didn’t work properly. We’d paid over ₱7,300 a day, and reporting another issue and possibly moving to a third room felt frustrating, so we left it. I’ve stayed in cheaper hotels with much better rooms. The beds were also very hard and uncomfortable. Grab delivery drivers can’t enter the property, so you have to walk to the gate to collect your order. The pool had lots of debris from the nearby trees and flowers, and didn’t look inviting to swim in. We walked to SBMA Beach, but it was under construction, and lots of people approached us trying to sell things. Getting around was another consideration: taxis cost more than expected, and no Grab taxi or Joyride taxi was available. If the beach is your main reason for going, you may want a place closer to SBMA Beach.
