Subic Park Hotel

Our room was spacious, with a nice view of the pool and bay. The hotel doesn't give out bottled water, but there's a dispenser in the hallway you can use anytime. Breakfast is included, though there aren't many choices. The place feels a bit old and the furnishings are dated, but the ambiance is okay. It's near Pier One, which might explain the music playing late at night. Before checkout, staff were setting up for a wedding, and the music was loud enough to hear inside our room. It was an okay stay.

The mattress was comfortable, the staff were friendly, and the food was good. My waterfront room had a nice view, and I didn't hear road noise. The room was big, though the window jams and door frames were dirty. This older hotel has some charm, but the beach walk wasn't pleasant because of the garbage and several people asking for money. The bar next door played loud music late into the night and early in the morning, so it wasn't a place for quiet. I paid p3500 a night after taxes online for the King waterfront room. Average at best overall.

We only saw one bright spot during our stay, a beautiful sunset. The location is nice, with many other hotels nearby, but the beach was very dirty and full of trash, and not suitable for swimming. It was a poor first hotel experience in Subic, and after one night we moved elsewhere. The room was old and dark, facing another building. The sheets were extremely worn and almost yellow rather than white, and I noticed a stain in the morning that made me uncomfortable. The toilet didn't flush properly either. The bathroom looked so bad that we didn't even shower after our trip. The staff were polite, but couldn't really help with simple requests like food recommendations. The food was just okay. One beef dish said it was for two, but the portion was tiny, only a few scoops, and way too salty. Another dish was okay, but nothing impressive. The pool looked cloudy, so we didn't swim. I usually take photos wherever I go, but I didn't take a single one here.

We booked two rooms for our family of six, five adults and one child, a twin and a triple. The triple was spacious enough for all of us, though we used both rooms for comfort and convenience. The view at the back was nice, and my family enjoyed the stay. I'd checked Google and Agoda reviews before our August long weekend trip, so my expectations were already managed. For the price and location, the hotel was okay. There are vendors around the pool who approach you one after another, so it's best to say no. We got ripped off on a pearl bracelet and later saw it much cheaper on Shopee, haha. A dunkin and uncle john’s are nearby along the street for basic things.
