The room was clean and nice, with a great view. They provide only a couple of soaps and sachets of shampoo and conditioner, so bring your own toiletries, especially a toothbrush and toothpaste. It’s a peaceful, convenient spot, with a park across the road, the bay a block away, and lots of businesses nearby. The hotel’s policy is to allow only small pets, but they let my chowchow stay after I messaged and got permission first. I had a good experience and would come back with my dog if they allow it again.

We were charged ₱1,000 at checkout over a steel shower hose cover that staff said had come loose. We were told the hotel was 14 years old, and it seemed the cover was rusting with age, not something an ordinary guest would tamper with. The charge felt far above the usual retail price. We paid half, and no manager spoke with us directly. I’d suggest taking photos or videos of the room before and after your stay. Appearances can lead to unfair judgments. The checkout inspection happened around 11:45-11:50 AM, which I understand. Earlier, we’d booked a deluxe room that looked beautiful and luxurious, and our stay was generally peaceful. The room had no rug, so the floor got messy coming in from outside, and Room 109’s door was difficult to unlock both times we struggled with it. The front desk staff were kind and accommodating, even lending us an umbrella in the rain. I still appreciated the quiet and their kindness, but guests should document everything and be cautious.

The restaurant and bar were good. But on one day there was no water in my shower, and on another there was no hot water. Also, please leave the air conditioner on after cleaning my room.

The biggest confusion was breakfast. We booked for three and asked for an extra bed, and thought breakfast was included. The night receptionist confirmed it, but the morning receptionist said it wasn’t, so the hotel needs to make its online and staff information more accurate. Our newly renovated room was clean, with a soft, comfortable bed, but using the shower was tricky for me since I’m not very tech-savvy and couldn’t figure out the hot and cold settings. We also had to request slippers, a hair dryer, and an iron separately. The hallway smelled of dog urine, and staff said the owner’s dog was in the room opposite ours. The room itself was comfortable, but the amenities, mixed messages, and smell in the shared area took away from the stay.

At checkout at Buena Casa Hotel Subic, we were asked to pay ₱1,000 for a bath towel described as “stained.” It looked like ordinary dirt smears that should come out in a proper wash, not permanent damage. When we challenged the charge and offered to buy the same towel they sell as a souvenir for ₱600, the receptionist refused and called our suggestion “illogical.” Charging more for a used towel than for a new one seems illogical to me. It came across as a cash grab, and the dismissive, inflexible response left a bad impression. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you don’t want to risk being charged for minor damage that may not be real.
