The staff were friendly and helpful, and there’s a handy convenience store attached to the hotel, though it’s quite far from restaurants. I was pleased that the shower problem was fixed the day after I mentioned it. At first the pressure was terrible and there was no hot water. The orange room was an adequate size and had air conditioning, but we arrived to lots of ants and small worms. After spraying plenty of insect spray, the ants stopped being an issue. My main concern is the five dogs kept in cages outside all day. We often saw them sitting in their own mess, and they were loud at night and early morning. The three big dogs didn’t even have room to move around in their cages. We made sure their bowls had water. The hotel itself was lovely, but I’m concerned about the dogs’ wellbeing.

The price felt really fair, less than 25€ for a beach stay. The view is fantastic and the people are really nice. It’s a few kilometres north of Oslob, and about 20 minutes by car from the whale sharks. I had a scooter, so getting around was no problem. Just keep in mind you’re outside the city if you don’t have a car, though cheap tuk tuks are available.

My family and I had a great stay here for Christmas. The quiet setting was nice, the staff were approachable, and the rooms were decent and comfortable. The beach stood out for me: the white sand was soft enough to walk on barefoot, and I stayed in the water for a long time. Pets are welcome too. They can provide a cage for them, or let them stay in your room for a small extra charge.

The rooms were the best part of our short family stay, with everything we needed provided. We brought our own food and could cook inside the resort. The kids had fun at the beach while we adults sang our hearts out with the karaoke machine. I especially enjoyed the pool. There are prettier beaches in the south, but this one is good for a quick summer getaway. This beautiful place didn’t disappoint, and I’d recommend it to families looking for a short break.
