Bohol Sea Resort

A very quiet, comfortable resort with a good pool and breakfast. It’s close to the main street by tuk-tuk, about three minutes, though walking takes around 20 minutes. We fell in love with the dog and its puppy. They’ll always be in our hearts 😍🥰🫶🏼

The staff were really helpful, and we enjoyed the restaurant and pool, especially the kids. We stayed for seven days in a great location. The Philippine owners in Manila could keep up with maintenance more regularly. When the power went out, the large backup generator was started right away, so the air conditioning, free WiFi, and room essentials kept working until electricity returned.

We had a great stay and liked how peaceful the resort felt, with its well-kept garden and open spaces. We spent most days out, but it would also be a comfortable place to relax. The foreign owner was friendly and opened the dive shop beside the family room each morning. Staff were responsive when we booked directly through FB messenger so they could apply the senior citizen discount. We first booked on Agoda. We paid the deposit through Gcash, then used a credit card for the balance on arrival. My husband, my parents, our small dog, and I stayed in the two-bedroom family room, while two friends of my mom had a Standard Room. We chose the resort because it welcomes pets without a fee, has its own beachfront, and was more affordable than other beachfront resorts. The beach wasn’t nice for swimming. We arrived around 2 pm, an hour before the usual check-in, and they let us in without an extra charge. Unfortunately, they had forgotten to reserve the first-floor family room, and another guest was already there, so we got a second-floor room instead. It was okay, but the stairs were quite steep for my senior parents. The room was spacious, including the bathroom. They provided bottled water, coffee and tea packets, and small toiletries like soap and shampoo every day, and cleaned the room daily. The shower holder was broken, and the room’s water heater wasn’t working when we arrived. They said an engineer would fix it that afternoon, but he didn’t come until the next day. Staff gave us a key to a Standard Room for hot showers. My parents used it, but my husband and I took cold showers because we didn’t want to walk over there. When we returned the next evening, the heater had finally been fixed. The family room is beachfront, so it’s about a three-minute walk from the resort parking area. Staff can help unload and load luggage. The room cleanliness could still be better. Even with those issues, we enjoyed our stay.

The room was a good size and the bed was super comfortable. The pool was nice enough, since the beach was full of boats. The resort and staff seemed a bit tired, though. There were always a few staff around, but ashtrays, a broken fan, coffee cups, and used towels sat uncleared for hours or even days. Only one fan worked for the whole resort, and the WiFi signal was very weak.
