Thistle Inn

The pool is gorgeous, and the lush green surroundings and peaceful setting near the beach made this a lovely place to slow down and unwind as a couple. We appreciated the warm welcome at Thistle Inn, the sweet Valentine’s décor, and the option to rent motorbikes to explore the island. This is a rural, naturally preserved part of Bohol, and that’s part of its magic. The local community is kind and welcoming. Visiting with respect, patience, and appreciation for the environment helps keep it that way. If you want somewhere quiet, heartfelt, and connected to the island’s natural beauty, Thistle Inn is a lovely choice.

The hosts were top tier, and the room was exceptional. It’s a cozy, beautiful little place about 15 minutes from the bustle of Alona Beach, but absolutely worth it. I’d stay again without hesitation.

We liked the quiet setting away from the hustle and bustle, and the owners and staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to the airport and offers an airport shuttle, so it works well if you want to relax for a couple of days after arriving or, as we did, stay a couple of nights before flying out. To get around, you’ll need to rent a scooter or book a Trike. This delightful little boutique hotel has only been open a little over a year, so everything felt fresh and very clean. The owners have thought through what’s needed in the contemporary rooms. The bed was very comfortable, and the white linens and towels were high quality. The food was good too, which saved us having to head out after a busy day. Highly recommended.
