On Board Panglao Beach Hostel and Resort

For my birthday, I booked a night here, then got a message saying road problems meant we'd have to be dropped off 12 minutes away and walk to the resort. We expected to get back late, and a 12-minute walk along the beach in the dark didn't feel suitable or safe. I understand the road issue isn't their fault, but it should be disclosed on the Booking listing. Leaving it out feels misleading, and they should allow a cancellation with a refund. Instead, they haven't even responded to my request. Hugely disappointing.

It's a lovely place to sit and watch the boats go by, with a friendly atmosphere, kind staff, and really good drinks. The food is a nice extra, though the menu is quite small. There's a lot of potential here, but it could use more work and investment.

I was only there for 8 hours as a solo traveler, but the affordable price and the place itself made a good impression. All the crew were so kind and nice, their service was really 11/10. I'd recommend On Board Panglao.

Walking along the beach is lovely, but getting there from the road is the problem. Only book if you're on a bike or don't mind a 15-minute walk to the car park. They sometimes have a bike to take guests back and forth, but it wasn't available when we were leaving. The water to our room was turned off overnight with no warning. Neither issue was mentioned to us beforehand.
