OFW at Crowne Bay Tower

Being right on the highway means it's noisy at night. The rooms also aren't well maintained, and there are cockroaches everywhere.

The hotel was okay, clean enough, and the staff were friendly. Its location is handy, just a couple of kilometers from the airport. Still, 40€ for a double room felt too expensive for the quality. I might have given it three stars, but breakfast was another letdown. They said they'd arrange it for 7 sharp because we had to leave early for the airport. At 7:30 there was still no breakfast, so we had to leave hungry.

I've stayed here twice in one week, first in a capsule and then in a small basic room with a shared bathroom. In that room type, the air conditioning is shared with another guest. The first time, I was paired with someone who didn't like cold air, and I was still sweating an hour after my shower. I knew I wouldn't sleep in that heat, so I asked to change rooms. The staff were accommodating and moved me to another floor. The hotel is well located, about 15 minutes by taxi from both the airport and bus terminals, and five minutes from MOA. Prices are very reasonable. I also left my luggage here during a three-day trip to Baguio, and I'd stay again.

Getting around is easy from here, with transport and malls nearby, and a church not far away. It's close to the airport, and City of Dreams is right next door. My room was nice. Traffic outside made some noise, but it didn't keep me from sleeping. I liked the interior, and it had a fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. Coffee, water, shampoo, and conditioner aren't supplied, though. There was dinnerware but no silverware, and the room could use coffee cups and utensils. I bought disposable ones. The towels could use an upgrade too. The bathroom was nice, with toiletries like a toothbrush and toothpaste, and house slippers were a plus. Neighbors smoked a lot, and I could smell it in the hallways and sometimes my room. If smells bother you, bring air freshener. There's an Asian restaurant downstairs that delivers to your room, plus a convenience store a few minutes' walk away. Laundry service is upstairs, and there's another place nearby if it's closed. This could work for a few weeks on a budget if you have the things I mentioned and don't mind eating out. Otherwise, get a condo with a kitchenette where you can cook.
