The building is well kept and our room was comfortable, but security made the stay uncomfortable and left us feeling unwelcome. They often watched me suspiciously. I didn’t know the gym needed to be reserved, and instead of explaining that, the guard at the main desk made a scene and threatened to make checkout difficult over my first minor offense. The same guard later gave me a written warning for putting out the trash at the wrong time. I apologized after the gym incident and asked security to tell me if I broke a rule because I wanted to be a good guest. I could be wrong, but it felt like they had some kind of problem with me. Their actions dampened our cheerful mood several times. I don’t recommend staying here as a tourist.

The amenity process made my stay impossible, even though the pools and gym were part of why I chose this place. Every visit meant booking, going up and down to sign forms, and getting passes to enter and leave. The whole process had to be repeated each time, and they also seemed to block out times for permanent residents. I’m writing this here as well as on Airbnb because my problems were specifically with building management. There are lots of people working there, but nothing seems to run properly. Reception staff couldn’t communicate in English beyond greetings. Arranging rubbish collection and monthly checks like pest control was a hassle, and they were always late. Visitor hours are ridiculous too. As a business traveller looking for a temporary home, I’d look elsewhere.

The Currency Residences doesn't seem to value residents’ time or personal freedom. It’s the worst condo I’ve stayed in during my time in manila, and I can’t recommend it. There are so many unnecessary, confusing rules, with huge fines for even minor violations. Package delivery is one example: they don’t hold packages for residents, so you may have to set aside your whole day to receive one. Despite having plenty of employees, the condominium has no package management system. Amenities are another headache. You have to reserve a limited slot the day before, and missing it because plans change brings another fine. You can only use the amenities three times a week. Trash has to be put out on a strict schedule or you’ll be penalized. Visitors also mean a long, frustrating sign-in process, and they have to leave by 4 pm.
