Lalaguna Villas Luxury Dive Resort & Spa

The diving is what made my stay at LLV. Jamie Morton taught me OW, AOW, and Nitrox one on one, with lots of patience and clear explanations. He seemed incredibly experienced, took me on great dives, and was good at spotting rockfish and sea turtles. The whole dive team was friendly and helpful, and even as a new diver I felt safe with them. The diving was world class and a lot of fun. The resort itself has a social feel because it’s small enough to recognize other guests, though it still had everything I needed. I’d guess there are about 40 rooms. The rooms were modern and comfortable, with great AC and free laundry, and they were nice even by US standards. Getting around was easy. The front desk arranged shuttles around Puerto Galera and to and from the resort, and there’s a free boat into downtown if you want it. It’s also about an 8 minute walk along the beach. They have currency exchange at reception, too. The front desk and bar/restaurant are open 24 hours, which helped with late nights and early mornings. Staff were welcoming, remembered my name and what I liked to eat and drink, and the dining area and kitchen setup were great. I had an outstanding experience at LLV. If I’m in the area again, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Looking for somewhere in Sabang? LLV is the place to be.

The diving ran smoothly and felt safe throughout our stay. We went with Mike and Kent, both friendly, professional, and clearly experienced. The briefings were thorough, the gear was well maintained, and the crew handled each dive carefully while keeping things relaxed. We also did our AOW and Nitrox PADI courses with Liam. He was patient and clear, and kept safety in focus while making sure we felt comfortable and confident as we learned. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and cleaned carefully every day. The resort felt welcoming and well looked after. At breakfast, the restaurant staff were kind and attentive, and the food was excellent. Fer and the front desk team deserve a special thanks. They answered our questions, helped with anything we needed, and arranged both ferry transfers seamlessly, so the trip felt stress free from arrival to departure. Lalaguna Villas is peaceful and beautiful, but still close to everything in Sabang. We had a fantastic stay, with great diving, comfort, safety, and warm hospitality. We’ll definitely be back.

Seeing this hotel give Christmas gifts to a couple hundred disadvantaged Filipino children was heartwarming. The owner, Daniel, dressed as Santa Claus, and it was lovely to witness the generosity. It’s nice knowing that my patronage supports a good cause in the community. The hotel is also awesome, with some of the best staff you’ll find in the Philippines.

The complimentary speedboat between Sabang Port and the hotel was a big help. Contact them and take it. We took the land route without knowing what the area was like, and it felt like crossing the sixth circle of hell. That wasn’t the hotel’s fault, though. We also scuba dived with them, and the instructors were knowledgeable and friendly. Service was excellent, the food was great, and the facilities were well maintained.
