Rem's Virgin Island Hotel

We had the free breakfast in the morning, and it was okay. Lunch was the best. The staff were very accommodating, especially Kuya Rem himself, who was such a cheerful person that you never get tired of laughing with him. It’s a cheap but nice place with plenty of space, a pool, karaoke, and somewhere to chill. Our room was enough for six, with three beds, air conditioning, a fan, a TV, and a bathroom with hot shower. I just wish there were more TV channels and extra electrical outlets. Recommend 👍

It’s nice being a bit away from the crowded hotel area, and the place is accessible from the highway with a path down to the beach. The owner is polite and welcoming. Rooms and pool are consistently clean, and the rooms are pretty cheap considering you also get a pool, free breakfast, free videoke, and billiards.

We stayed three days and two nights, and I’d recommend it. We had insect bites after the trip, and the ferry reservation was the main disappointment. Sir Rems helped arrange our ride home, but he only had a contact with Montenegro. The fast craft was already booked, so we got on Montenegro’s roro. It was awful, with no seats, and we had to sit on the floor or stairs at the side. If you can, go to the port yourself to have more options. Knowing how bad the roro would be, we wouldn’t have asked him to help. The hotel is easy to find from the highway and three minutes from the beach. For nine guests in two rooms, we paid only 11K. Rooms were cool with air conditioning and fans. Breakfast was free, and the staff were accommodating. Sir Rems was incredibly friendly and helpful. He even took one of our group to town on his motorcycle for free to buy food for us to cook. Drinks with alcohol were much cheaper than elsewhere. The accommodation included free snorkeling, with gear, at two sites, plus a sea turtle viewing. The underground cave was an option, but we skipped it because it was too crowded. Snorkeling was unlimited. We left after breakfast around 9, and Sir Rems said not to ask to return before noon, so we could enjoy ourselves and come back whenever we liked. The pool was okay, and there was free videoke, billiards, and a grilling station. On our last night, a professional fire dancer performed at the hotel for free, though we were encouraged to tip. I’d give it about 4.7 stars, rounded up to five because the experience was great overall. Everything else was fine apart from the roro booking. The hotel is more than okay but not luxurious or excellent. For the low price and included services, I don’t think another hotel offers a better experience. I’d go back.

Room rates are very reasonable, and breakfast, the pool, billiards, and videoke machine are included at no charge. The hosts are accommodating, remind you about your booking, and give you directions on where to go. I stay here whenever I visit Galera. Two thumbs up!
