Sabang Oasis Resort

Finding this hotel can be tricky, so ask locals where the right alley is. It’s a small place, and even though they moved me as far as possible from construction and upgraded me because of it, I still woke up to the noise. There was no discount or similar compensation. The construction is temporary, but how it was handled says something about the way they think. The staff, or perhaps the owner, were easygoing. Cleaning seemed just as casual: my room wasn’t cleaned. I was there only two nights, so it was okay for me. The shower had mold, though the hot water was plentiful and the pressure was good. The sheets and towels were clean, but the towels were very old and frayed. Wi-Fi was stable but quite slow, and you have to ask for the password.

It took some effort to find on my first visit, but the location turned out to be convenient. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom clean with a hot shower. The price was very reasonable. I stayed two nights and would return when I'm in the area again.

The road leading in isn't great, but the place itself is very nice once you're there. Security was good, the staff attentive, and the rooms clean and pleasant. The minibar was stocked with all kinds of drinks, available for a charge.

Good value, with a nicely sized room close to the restaurants, bars, and dive shops in Sabang.
